One of the things our guests love best about Lancaster Hall Hotel is our superb location, right in the heart of London. Various local shops, eateries and attractions are within walking distance, while a huge range of top attractions and activities are just a short bus or tube ride away. Our things to do page has a handy summary of central London highlights. Meanwhile, the following section provides a quick guide to services, places to shop and eat right on our doorstep.
Staying with us you really are spoilt for choice with places to eat and drink in the area. If you want to stay close, there are many excellent places to eat right on our doorstep; The Mitre and The Cleveland pubs are beautiful Victorian establishments and both offer a superb menu.
Taormina Italian restaurant has been open in Craven Terrace since 1967, meanwhile, Tukdin serves delicious Malaysian food, and is situated just round the corning along with The Mandarin Chinese restaurant. Aside from having a French delicatessen, Leclerc & Laurent have recently opened a café/restaurant, so you can either eat their tasty food on the premises or take it away with you.
Whilst the above are literally on our doorstep, if you fancy a change of scenery and a 15 minute walk, you can visit Paddington Basin or Little Venice which is the stretch of canal behind Paddington Station. This vibrant area has been renovated recently and now is home to many more fantastic restaurants and bars, including The Union Bar & Grill, KuPP (Scandinavian café bar), Pearl Liang (Chinese Restaurant), Smith’s Bar & Grill, Zizzi (pizza/pasta), Pizza Express, and more besides. There is even a restaurant on a barge (narrow boat) called The London Shell Co. if being next to the water is not close enough for you! The Pergola has al fresco drinking and dining for the summer months and has a real holiday to feel to it. Paddington Basin is also home to London’s first floating park and several architecturally interesting bridges.
Meanwhile, Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park are also only a 10 minute walk away from us and you can enjoy a meal in one of its splendid cafes – choose from The Serpentine Café, Lido Café, or Italian Fountains Café. Or why not dine like Royalty at either Kensington Palace Café or The Orangery Restaurant.
Just footsteps from Lancaster Hall are several places to buy food, gifts and supplies on your visit. Just around the corner from us you will find Leclerc and Laurent French supermarket and deli while the nearby Nisa Local is also conveniently located to pick up groceries and sundries. The nearest local off license is Premier Wines and Spirits. There is also a pharmacy (Moore & Co.) on the corner.
